This is a WW2 issued USA Victory Medal in original 1946 dated box complete with pin-back ribbon bar, and some of the original protective tissue paper. The medal is in mint condition, not to be confused with later issue pieces of inferior quality. Good sound box. Some of these medals had the early crimp back brooch design as the more labour intensive sewn slotted brooch design was being phased out, but this still has the slotted brooch attachment. Awarded from 1945 to any member of the armed forces who was on active service for at least one day between December 1941 and the end of 1946! Obtained from the USA.
