This is an American WW2 issued Distinguished Flying Cross complete with bar in it's original 'coffin-box' WW2 style presentation case, but without the lapel badge which is not too difficult to find. The American DFC was instituted immediately after WW1 in November 1918, and is awarded to any officer or enlisted member of the armed forces of the USA, who distinguishes themselves with an act of heroism or extraordinary achievement whilst participating in aerial flight
In excellent condition, this medal has the slotted-brooch pin attachment identifying it as a WW2 era issue piece. The case is also in good condition, with good hinge unlike some, but showing some scuffs. Obtained from the USA.
