This is a WW2 issued American Defense Medal in original issue box, complete with pinback ribbon bar and lapel pin. In excellent condition, with it's protective tissue paper still present. The manufacturers label also gives an issue date of 12/3/45 . This medal was awarded to those military personnel who were on active duty between the dates of the start of WW2 and the formal declaration of war by the United States, being September 8th 1939 and December 7th 1941.
