World War 1 bayonets
This is a Swiss made Model 1899 bayonet designed to fit the M1911 carbine and M1889/96 rifle with larger 15mm muzzle ring. Made by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen in Switzerland as stamped on the ricasso, this example is in very good condition, with excellent blade, point and grips, though point has been dressed. Patina to bright steel pommel and crossguard, the later being stamped with a serial number which relates to a 1916 M1911 rifle. The scabbard is in very good undented condition complete with leather tab, but the tab has broken at the buckle hole though is repairable. Fitted into an original leather frog, maker marked and dated 18 to the rear, in very good condition. This is a super quality bayonet as expected from the Swiss, in lovely condition.Our Price: £125.00 |
