This is a Swedish made Model 1896 bayonet designed to fit the Mauser M1896 which equipped Swedish forces in the late 19th century. Marked E.J.(Crown & Anchor)A.B. for Eskilstuna Jernmanufactur AB on the ricasso, who made there from 1899 till 1912, with serial number 383 under a crown on the other. This example is in very good condition, with excellent full 212mm blade, edge and point, and very good steel crosshatched grip. Patina to steel pommel and crossguard, the latter being stamped with a 5/I.4 No.61, meaning bayonet for rifle no.61, 5th company of the 4th infantry regiment. No scabbard with this bayonet unfortunately. This is a super quality bayonet as expected from the Swedish, in lovely condition.
