World War 2 bayonets and Knives
This is a Portuguese M/937 bayonet, made under contract by German manufacturers identical to the model 1884/98 III bayonet used with the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle. Unmarked on the ricasso or scabbard mouth, these bayonets are identified by the style of serial number on the crossguard and the WaffenAmt number of 883 or 519 on the pommel. This bayonet is in very good condition. The blade retains nearly all it's original blacked finish with excellent edge and point. Good sound wooden grips with minor marks and nearly all blacking to WaA 519 marked pommel, crossguard and flashguard. Similar good finish to the scabbard, some signs of light corrosion but no dents. Similar serial number marked on frog-stud. A great addition to any K98 rifle, especially a Portuguese contract one.
