Portuguese Mauser K98 bayonet and scabbard, 1937 contract **SOLD**
This is a Portuguese M/937 bayonet, made under contract by German manufacturers identical to the model 1884/98 III bayonet used with the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle. Unmarked on the ricasso or scabbard mouth, these bayonets are identified by the style of serial number and the WaffenAmt number of 253 on the pommel. This bayonet is in very good condition. The blade retains nearly all it's original blacked finish with excellent edge and good point. Good sound wooden grips with minor damage and most of blacking to pommel, crossguard and flashguard. Similar finish to the unmarked scabbard. A great addition to any K98 rifle, especially a Portuguese contract one.
