World War 1 bayonets
This is a yataghan M1886 sword bayonet, made by Steyr in Austria, for the 8mm Kropatchek M1886 rifle issued to the Portuguese Army, and marked faintly Steyr 1886 on the spine. This example is in good sound condition, good clean blade with very good edge and point, just very light marks to the steel, good wooden grips, though a small piece of wood missing on one side by the crossguard. Good release button, and nice patina to the pommel and cross-guard, Portuguese Cross stamped on the latter and the ricasso. Scabbard is in good condition too, OE WG stamped on the frogstud, most of it's blacked finish remaining, no dents but some minor pitting in the steel. Very nice bayonet for your 8mm Kropatchek M1886 rifle.
