Obsolete calibre Martini-Henry mk IV rifle, 1887 dated

This is a Martini-Henry mk IV .450/577" calibre rifle, produced from 1886 till 1889. This particular example was made at the Enfield factory in 1887, as marked faintly on the breech side under the Victoria crown, and there are broad arrows and WD War Department inspection stamps in many places signifying British military use, and no foreign marks for service with other nations as is often the case. Stamped AMB 936 on one side of the breech. Good furniture with minor knocks from service use, and a hairline crack in the butt though feels solid. Good steel with a pleasant patina of age, some of the original finish with no pitting. A very nice original example of this widely used Victorian-era rifle, which saw service with the Empire until the end of WW1. This rifle is of obsolete calibre so cocks and dry-fires, and able to be fully stripped, and does not require any licence for ownership, unless the intention is to fire it again, then the correct licence will be compulsory. Comes with an original cleaning rod.
