Mauser K98 S1884/98 bayonet, scabbard and frog, very nearly matched, 1939 dated **SOLD**

This is a Model 1884/98 III bayonet for the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle. Marked Carl Eickhorn on the ricasso with 39 on the spine of the blade, and the same name on the 1939 dated scabbard, and the serial numbers of 3427f on the ricasso, and 3410f on the scabbard, I would say these were probably paired up very early in their service lives, maybe at the factory, or soon accidentally after issue. The bayonet blade is in excellent condition, with the majority of it's blued finish, good point and unsharpened edge. Most of the original blued finish has worn off the crossguard, flashguard and pommel, but there are very clear Waffenamt stamps on pommel and release button. The bakolite grips are near perfect. Very good scabbard, a few very minor dents,
Waffenamt stamped finial. Genuine WW2 leather frog, with securing strap removed.  A great addition to any K98 rifle.
