This is the model 1884/98 III  bayonet for the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle. Marked Clemen & Jung and 6496b on the ricassos and 40 on the blade spine, this bayonet is in good untouched condition. The blade has a very good edge and point with most of it's blacked finish. The waffenamt stamped pommel, crossguard and flashguard have a nice patina. Good grips and release button. Good sound scabbard, similar patina to steel, but quite a few small dents, Waffenamt stamped on the finial. Marked the same Clemen & Jung 1940 and matching serial number, fitted into very good original leather frog with good tight stitching and rivets, clearly maker marked and dated 1937 to the rear. A great addition to any K98 rifle.
