World War 2 bayonets and Knives
This is the model 1884/98 III bayonet for the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle. Marked 44 asw on the ricasso and scabbard for the year and maker, E & F Horster, and matching serial numbers of 6007k. This bayonet is in good sound condition, the blade has a good edge and point with alot of it's original finish, but it has been sharpened. The Waffenamt stamped pommel, crossguard and flashguard are nicely blacked, with very good wooden grips. Very good scabbard, with nearly all black painted finish and no rust or dents worth mentioning, Waffenamt stamped on the finial, fitted into a very good genuine leather frog that I'm sure is original to this bayonet, RB Number stamped to the rear. A very nice addition to any K98 rifle.
