Mauser K98 bayonet, scabbard and frog, fully matched, cof44/2690j

This is the model 1884/98 III bayonet for the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle. Marked cof 44 on the ricasso and scabbard for the year and maker, Carl Eickhorn of Solingen, who made these bayonets from 1934 to 1944, with matching serial numbers of 2690j. This bayonet is in good condition, with excellent blade with perfect edge and point and all it's factory blacked finish. The Waffenamt stamped pommel, crossguard and flashguard show a pleasant patina with light corrosion to flashguard, very good backolite grips. Similar finish to scabbard, some light corrosion, Waffenamt stamped on the finial, fitted into genuine leather later war frog with RB number to rear. Good stitching and strong leather but one rivet looks to have pulled through. A very nice addition to any K98 rifle.
