Mauser K98 bayonet and scabbard undated Waffenamt marked SOLD
This is a the Model 1884/98 III bayonet for the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle. Unmarked on either ricasso or spine, it has F7772 stamped in the crossguard. The blade is in excellent condition, with all its original finish, excellent point and unsharpened edge, zero rust. The wooden grips are near perfect, and the crossguard, pommel ( Waffenamt stamped) and flashguard are in equally good condition with just wear to the high points as would be expected on a 70 year old piece of cold steel! Fully functional release button, also Waffenamt stamped. The scabbard is in good condition, no dents worth mentioning, but signs of light corrosion. Waffenamp stamp on finial, and stamped F12 on frog-stud (serial number on bayonet crossguard could be F1112 making them a matching pair?). A great addition to any K98 rifle.
