This is the model 1884/98 III  bayonet for the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle . Marked 44 asw on the ricasso for the year and maker, E & F Horster, this bayonet is in very good condition. The blade has a very good edge and point and 95% of it's original blued finish, zero corrosion or marks. Perfect grips and excellent bluing to pommel, crossguard and flashguard. Nazi Waffenamt stamp on the pommel.  The scabbard is in equally good condition, super original bluing, no dents or corrosion, also marked 44asw though sadly not the same serial number,  Waffenamt stamped on the finial. A great addition to any K98 rifle.
