Mauser K98 bayonet and scabbard, 1939, matching serial numbers **SOLD**

This is the model 1884/98 III  bayonet for the WW2 German Mauser K98 infantry rifle . Marked F. Herder A.Sn on one side of the ricasso and 4525b on the other, with a date of 39 on the spine, this bayonet is in good sound condition. The blade has a very good edge and point, with no additional sharpening, though very light marks towards the tip. There is most of the blacking left on the blade, and a worn finish to the pommel, flashguard and crossguard with just a pleasant patina and no corrosion. Nazi Waffenamt stamps on the pommel and release button, with very good bakelite grips. The scabbard is in good condition, no denting but with almost none of it's original finish, though fully matched to the bayonet.  A great addition to any K98 rifle.
