This is a Model 1884/98 III bayonet for the WW1 German Mauser Gewehr 98 infantry rifle, though it will also fit the WW2 K98 rifle. Marked Erfurt under an imperial crown on the ricasso, and dated 15 on the spine under the crest of Wilhelm, this bayonet is in good sound condition, with very good bright steel finish to the blade, excellent point and unsharpened edge. Light corrosion evident on the inspection stamped pommel, crossguard and flashguard. The wooden grips are near perfect. Good sound scabbard, no dents but some light corrosion. A great addition to any G98 rifle.
