Israeli K98 bayonet and scabbard, IDF marked **SOLD**


This is a german Nazi period bayonet and scabbard, adapted with full muzzle ring for use by the Israelis on their K98 rifles that equipped the IDF in the post war years. The bayonet is dated 39 on the spine of the blade, and JOS.CORTS on the ricasso. The scabbard is marked S/172 for Carl Eickhorn of Solingen and dated 1940.  The bayonet pommel, release button and scabbard finial are Waffenamt stamped, ironically, and the bayonet pommel is also marked with the Israeli Star of David and the IDF property mark. On this example the blade is in good condition but with a number of minor chips on the blade edge. Good grips and release stud. The scabbard is very good. An unusual bayonet with correct scabbard that will of course fit any K98 rifle.
