Inert Rifle and Machine Gun cartridges
These are inert .50 inch calibre Browning Machine Gun (BMG) cartridges, or metric designation 12.7x99mm NATO. It is a rimless bottle-necked, and basically a scaled-up .30-06 cartridge. Initially developed for the Browning .50 Calibre Machine Gun at the end of WW1, hence it's name, it began it's military life in 1921. It has been continued to be used right through WW2, the Vietnam War, Falklands War, Gulf War and current conflicts. These 3 examples are all WW2 dated on the headstamps, with two of them having no primers, namely M 42 and SR 44, and the one with a primer is TW 45. Please let us know if you have a preference.
