This is an inert and totally safe .303 inch calibre cartridge, known also as .303 British. It is a rimmed bottle-necked cartridge with a metric designation of 7.7x65mmR. For use as a rifle and machine gun bullet, it was used extensively in WW1 and WW2, with a military service which spanned from 1889 and into the 1950's. These particular examples all have WW1 headstamp dates and come with the correct nickel heads and unstruck oiled primers.
