Inert 7.63 and 7.62 x 25mm cartridge

Inert 7.63 and 7.62 x 25mm cartridge

This is an inert and totally safe 7.63mm caliber cartridge, of the type used in the famous german C96 Broomhandled Mauser, which was the basis for the 7.62 x 25mm cartridge used in the russian Tokarev semi-automatic pistol. Because the 7.62 mm Tokarev has a stronger powder charge, it was not suited for use in Mauser C96 pistols or other firearms chambered for 7.63 mm Mauser ammunition. However, it was safely used the other way around, so 7.63 mm Mauser ammunition could be used in firearms chambered for the 7.62 mm Tokarev. It was not at all uncommon on the Eastern Front for the Germans to use captured 7.62x25mm weapons, notably the PPSh-41 submachine gun and feed them with 7.63 mm Mauser rounds.
