This is the .444 inch calibre Marlin rifle cartridge, designed by Marlin Firearms and Remington Arms in 1964. Metric designation 10.9 x 57mmR, it was at that time the largest lever-action cartridge available and resembled a lengthened .44 Magnum, packing an even greater punch. This example has an expanding hollow-point bullet.
