World War 2 bayonets and Knives
| This is the Bayonet no.1 Mk III made at the Rifle Factory Ishapore (R.F.I.) for the Ishapore made SMLE rifles. The bayonet no.1 was a development of the Indian Pattern 1907 bayonet, which was in turn an Indian made British Pattern 1907 bayonet. This example is in excellent condition with very good blade with perfect point and edge. Although marked on the ricasso with Mk.II and the manufacturer R.F.I. under the Royal Cypher, with a date of 9 '44, this has the later Mk.III grips and pommel, and just uses a MkII blade. The other side shows Ishapore inspection stamps. Very good wooden grips, and all of blacking on crossguard and pommel. Scabbard in very good condition, with 99% of blacking to maker marked throat and chape, fitted into genuine period webbing frog. A great addition for any Ishapore SMLE. Our Price: £120.00 |
