Indian SMLE Bayonet No.1 mk 2* JU made, 1942 dated **SOLD**
This is the Bayonet no.1 mk II* made at the Jhelum Arsenal in Jhelum, which is now in Pakistan but was once part of India, to fit the Ishapore made SMLE rifles. The bayonet no.1 was a development of the Indian Pattern 1907 bayonet, which was in turn an Indian made British Pattern 1907 bayonet. This example is in excellent condition with perfect blued blade with perfect point and edge. Marked on the ricasso with the type Mk.II* and the manufacturer JU , with a date of 8 '42. The other side shows an inspection stamp. Excellent wooden grips, and perfect blue on crossguard and pommel. Scabbard in very good condition, with 99% of bluing to throat and chape. A great addition for any Ishapore SMLE.
