This is a genuine WW2 issue War Service Cross with swords, or Kriegsverdienstkreuz mit Schwerten, 1st class. Awarded to combattants for meritorious acts that were not in direct contact with the enemy. Late war issue, made from a zinc like material with a silver coloured wash over it. In good condition, apart from the damaged cast-in hook that is partially missing.
