World War 2 bayonets and Knives
This is a dress bayonet, or 'walking-out' sidearm worn by members of the fire service in Germany during WW2. This is the long version, with super 250mm blade with maker's mark Hammesfahr & Company of Soligen, which draws very nicely from the scabbard. Super blade with excellent edge and point, very good grips, no cracks, very good finish to 'bird-beak' or 'eagle head' pommel and double quillon cross guard with just minor loss of finish in places. Very good undented scabbard, retaining most of the black painted finish. So many seem to have been shut in the car door! but not this one, a very nice example complete with leather crossguard buffer. Our Price: £175.00 |
