World War 2 bayonets and Knives
This is a genuine WW2 leather frog as used with the S1884/98 bayonet, which fitted the Mauser K98 infantry rifle. In good used condition and still quite supple, nice and strong around the frog-stud hole, and with good alloy rivets and stitching. Faintly marked LDA to signify Luftwaffe issue, though not the usual brown colour, and dated 1939 to the rear. There is a hole drilled in the rear where it was presumably once hung on a wall! A very nice original frog.
