World War 2 bayonets and Knives
This is a dress bayonet or 'walking-out' sidearm worn by NCO's and enlisted men in the German armed forces during WW2. This is the short version, so worn by an NCO or an officer, with super 200mm blade with no maker's mark on the ricasso, which draws very nicely from the scabbard. Excellent edge and point, just very minor marks and scratches. Excellent undamaged handle, no cracks, good finish to 'bird-beak' or 'eagle head' pommel and quillon cross guard. Very good undented scabbard, retaining most of the black painted finish. So many seem to have been shut in the car door!! but not this one, a very nice example.
