German K98 armed forces enlisted man's 'pioneer' dress bayonet, WKC made
German K98 armed forces enlisted man's 'pioneer' dress bayonet, WKC made
This is a dress bayonet, or 'walking-out' sidearm worn by NCO's and enlisted men in the German armed forces during WW2. Sometimes known as a 'pioneer' variant due to the lack of quillon. This is the long version, so worn by an enlisted man, with super condition 250mm blade with maker's mark W.K.C. of Solingen, which draws very nicely from the scabbard. Excellent edge and point, still retains leather buffer. Excellent undamaged handle, no cracks, good finish to 'bird-beak' or 'eagle head' pommel and plain cross guard with very minor loss of finish in places. Very good undented scabbard, retaining most of the gloss black painted finish. A lovely example of this dress bayonet.
