World War 2 bayonets and Knives
This is a dress bayonet, or 'walking-out' sidearm worn by NCO's and enlisted men in the German armed forces during WW2. This is the long version, so worn by an enlisted man, with super 250mm blade with maker's mark Anton Wingen of Solingen, which draws very nicely from the scabbard. Excellent edge and point, just minor marks and scratches. Excellent undamaged handle, no cracks, good finish to 'bird-beak' or 'eagle head' pommel and quillon cross guard. Very good undented scabbard, retaining most of the black painted finish. So many seem to have been shut in the car door!! but not this one, a very nice example.
