This is a German made 77mm shell case, dated February (Februar) 1917 on it's base, with a height of 228mm. This shell was used by the standard light field gun of the German Army on the western front during WW1, the 7.7cm FK 96 n/A. Also marked 'st' meaning stark, to signify a strengthened case, and HL for the manufacturer Haniel Lueg of Dusseldorf, This example is in good condition, with good clear markings, a nice souvenier of the Great War..
