Pre-World War 1 bayonets
This is a very interesting and unusual French sword bayonet, fitted to the Chassepot M1866 rifle, as it is has German regimental markings. Marked 66.L.II.4.140 on the crossguard, this bayonet is in good condition, with clean blade, just a few stains, good point and unsharpened edge. Marked to the Chatellerault armoury and dated 1867 on the spine, a few years before the Franco-Prussian War. Sound brass grips and working release button, good undented scabbard with a lot of it's original finish. A classic sword bayonet in very good condition for it's age, with a unique history.Our Price: £150.00 |
