Pre-World War 1 bayonets
This is a very interesting and unusual French sword bayonet, fitted to the Chassepot M1866 rifle, as it is has German regimental markings. Marked 83.L.I.3.129 on the crossguard, this bayonet is in very good condition, with very clean blade, good point and unsharpened edge. Marked to the St. Etienne armoury and dated 1869 on the spine, the year before the Franco-Prussian War. Sound brass grips and working release button, good undented scabbard. A classic sword bayonet in very good condition for it's age, with a unique history.
