World War 1 bayonets
This is the model 1892 sword bayonet as fitted to the Berthier M1892 carbine that equipped certain artillery and cavalry units of the French Army, and those of it's colonies during WW1. Introduced in 1892, this bayonet featured a hook quillon and a 15mm long muzzle ring. The muzzle ring extended to 19mm in the type 2, and the quillon was shortened in 1915 for the type 3. This particular example is in good sound condition, with very good clean straight blade, good edge (just a couple of nicks) and good point. Good grips but broken release button- it will fit on a gun but not lock. The scabbard is very good with two dents on one edge, retaining nearly all it's blacked finish. The scabbard is numbered the same as the bayonet. A nice mid-WW1 bayonet to compliment your Berthier carbine. (This bayonet will not fit the Berthier rifle).
