This is an antique percussion cap pistol manufactured by the East India Company in the 1840s and 1850's, with the 'rampant lion' logo on the right side. With a 7" hexagonal barrel of approximately 3/4" bore, these pistols had a lanyard ring and hinged ram-rod specifically for use on horse back. The rampant lion logo cease to be used after 1859, when the British crown took over rule in India up till 1947 when India gained independence. This example is in very good condition with very good complete funiture, and will cock and dry-fire with functional ram-rod.
