This is a deactivated Yugoslavian M56 smg, which saw service with the Yugoslav military from 1956 (hence name) through to 1992. Chambered for the Russian 7.62 x 25mm cartridge, the design was clearly influenced by the German WW2 MP40, though it has many differences. This example is in very good condition with moving cocking handle and bolt under spring pressure, with the benefit of having a partial original bolt, not a facsimile. With sprung trigger, folding butt-stock and original leather sling, it can be stripped down as shown. Also comes with 3 spare magazines in an original leather pouch plus cleaning kit, and a couple of inert 7.62mm cartridges. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
