Deactivated World War 2 rifles.
This is the unusual Swedish 6.5mm caliber Model 1896/38 short rifle, a M38 converted from a M96 long rifle, which was used by the Swedish military through WW1 and in variants up till 1944. Originally based on the Mauser M1893, the M38 was Sweden's answer to the trend for shorter length rifles which started in WW1. This rifle is in lovely authentic condition, marked Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori on the breach, with a date of 1915, with good original blacking to most of the steel, and lovely hardwood stock complete with brass butt disc (for indicating barrel bore size) and original cleaning-rod. As an early EU spec deactivation, this rifle cocks and dry-fires with a precise action, and can be fully field stripped, and has all matching serial numbers. Comes with original Swedish marked leather sling. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation to UK/EU spec.
Our price: £675.00
