Deactivated Webley mkIII revolver 0.455" calibre, old spec

This is the Webley mark III revolver in 0.455 inch calibre and 4 inch barrel, introduced in 1897.  Webley revolvers were standard issue to the British Army and those of the Commonwealth from 1887 to 1963, though this particular model was not widely issued and made way for the mk IV in 1899, which was superceeded by the mk V in 1913, and then the mk VI in 1915. This particular example is in very good original condition, with complete undamaged broadarrow marked grips, marked R.P 5.17 on the grip strap with WD broadarrows in several other places. This revolver has a precise action and unworn hinge, and has matching serial numbers to frame, barrel and chamber. A lovely authentic un-messed with example of this unusual service revolver, able to cock and dry-fire with clear chambers. Inert rounds not included. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate of Deactivation.
