Deactivated Webley mk6 service revolver 1917 dated, old spec deactivation **SOLD**

This is the Webley mark 6 revolver in 0.455 inch calibre and 6 inch barrel.  Webley revolvers were standard issue to the British Army and those of the Commonwealth from 1887 to 1963, and this particular model, the mk VI was introduced in 1915 during WW1, and was also used in WW2 and after. This particular example is an early specification deactivation (1990), and can still chamber inert rounds as shown. In very good original unrestored condition, with several inspection and broad-arrow marks, dated 1917 on the frame and barrel, and no 'sold out of service' stamps. Excellent undamaged grips, and matching serial numbers to frame, barrel and chamber. This revolver has a very precise and reliable action, but has suffered minor distortion on the barrel left side due to the deactivation process, but it hardly notices. It is a very good example of this sought-after service revolver, in lovely un-messed with condition, and the 6 inert .455" rounds shown are also included.  Deactivated in the UK with Certificate  to UK specification.
