Deactivated Webley mk4 3" revolver 1943 manufactured, small grip **SOLD**

This is the British Webley mark IV revolver with 3 inch barrel in 0.38 inch calibre, chambered for the .038/200 cartridge, made by Webley & Scott Ltd, Birmingham.  The serial number dates it as manufactured in mid 1943, and it carries the 'war finish', which was a less expensive finish to the steel than would be applied in peace-time, to speed up production. This mk IV Webley was standard service issue to the armed forces, and the optional 3" barrel with reduced grip size was popular with secret agents and other covert operatives like the SOE, as it made the weapon far easier to conceal. Cocks, breaks and dry fires, this revolver is in very nice condition with  precise, unworn action, with matching serial numbers on frame, barrel and chamber. Sound metalwork with 95% of its original finish and good sound grips.  Deactivated in UK with Certificate to UK specification.
