Deactivated Webley mk VI service revolver 1917 dated, RAF marked, early EU spec
Deactivated Webley mk VI service revolver 1917 dated, RAF marked, early EU spec
This is the Webley mark VI revolver in 0.455 inch calibre and 4 inch barrel. Webley revolvers were standard issue to the British Army and those of the Commonwealth from 1887 to 1963, and this particular model was introduced in 1915 during WW1, and was also used in WW2 and after. This particular example is an early EU specification deactivation, and as such will cock and dry-fire. In very good condition, with excellent grips and super uncorroded finish to the steel. With a very precise action and unworn hinge, it has matching serial numbers to frame, barrel and chamber. Dated 1917 on the frame and barrel, with several clear imperial inspection stamps and WD broad-arrows, this is a super example of this sought-after service revolver. Marked RAF on the frame, this is probably a weapon issued to aircrew, with it's less restrictive shorter barrel. One inert round of .455" is included to display with this pistol. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
