Deactivated Webley mk 6 revolver, 1918 dated, loadable cylinders **SOLD**

This is the Webley mark 6 revolver in 0.455 inch calibre and 6 inch barrel. Webley revolvers were standard issue to the British Army and those of the Commonwealth from 1887 to 1963, and the Mk VI was introduced in 1915 during WW1, being used in WW2 and after. This example is a current EU spec deactivation, and is in very good condition, with complete and undamaged grips and good original finish to the steel. This revolver has rotating cylinder operated by the trigger, and the hammer clicks but no full dry fire. Of benefit though is completely free cylinders, so loading with inert cartridges is possible, and the six shown are provided with this pistol. Matching serial numbers to frame, barrel and chamber. Dated 1918 on the frame and barrel, with several clear imperial inspection stamps and WD broad-arrows, this is a super example of this sought-after service revolver. There is also provenance, in that this pistol was found at the residence of Brigadier Hanbury Pawle prior to deactivation. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate  to UK/EU specification.
