Deactivated W. Darlow 12-bore boxlock shotgun **SOLD**

This is a 12-bore double-barrelled boxlock action shotgun of side-by-side construction made by W. Darlow of Bedford, as marked faintly on the top of the 30 inch barrels.  Walter Darlow established his business in 1883, and also had shops in Norwich and Cambridge in the early 1900s. This example is in lovely condition with beautifully grained cross-hatched hardwood rear and forestock, with just the odd marks that would be expected on an Edwardian-era shotgun. Minimally engraved metalwork, with a pleasant patina on the action and all the original blacked finish on the barrels. This shotgun breaks, cocks and dry-fires with a precise action on both barrels, and can be fully stripped. It would make a fabulous addition to anybody's hunting lodge, mounted over the fireplace! Two inert cartridges are included, with more available seperately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each, post free if ordered  with the shotgun. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
