Deactivated Spanish Model 1893 rifle, 1925 dated **SOLD**

This is the Spanish Model 1893, often referred to simply as the 'Spanish Mauser', chambered for a 7 x 57mm round. It is perhaps the best known Mauser rifle of all time, as it predates the S.African M1895, the Swedish M1896, the German Gew.1898, and inspired amongst others, the Turkish M1893. Adopted in December of 1893, it was the first Mauser to have a clip-loaded fully internal magazine, with clip guide milled into the receiver bridge, and characteristic straight bolt handle. This particular example is in good sound condition, very good stock, with some minor pitting to the steel in a few places. Marked on the receiver 'Fabrica de Armas Oviedo' meaning Oviedo Arsenal, 1925. Cocks and dry-fires, fully strippable, and comes complete with original cleaning-rod. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to full UK specification.
