Deactivated SMLE Mk3 BSA made, 1943 dated, matching s/numbers **SOLD**

This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army and the forces of it's Empire during WW1, the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk 3, also known as the SMLE, made at the BSA factory. The butt socket is stamped with the Royal Cypher of George V, indicating military issue, a partial stamp of maker BSA Co, date of 1943, and the model SHT.L.E. III*. The furniture is in very good original condition, complete and undamaged, except for the usual knocks of a service rifle, fitting and matching nicely. The steelwork is also in very good condition, retaining a lot of it's original blackened finish, with matching serial numbers to breech, bolt, barrel (1942 dated), rearsights, nosecap and forestock. An original example of this iconic rifle perfect for the reinactor or collector alike. This rifle is able to cock and dry-fire and is fully strippable, and comes with detachable magazine, a  MEC Co 1943 marked webbing sling and a full clip of inert .303 rounds. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
