This is a 0.38" calibre Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver, developed in 1899. Described as the most successful handgun of all time, this was one of the standard side-arms of the British and Commonwealth forces during WW2 along with the Enfield no2 and Webley Mk4, supplied under the 'lend lease' agreement. This particular example is what is known as a 'Victory' model, in that it was made only during the war years specifically to supply to the allied forces, and as such has a V prefix to the serial number. In very good original authentic condition, this revolver features wooden hand grips in lovely complete condition and 99% of it's original blacked finish, with only minor loss of finish in places. Deactivated in 1994, this revolver had clear chambers, so can be loaded with inert rounds as shown, and with good precise double and single action, this revolver can be cocked and dry-fired. The inert rounds shown are not included. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
