Deactivated Smith and Wesson 'Military and Police' revolver

This is a 0.38" calibre Smith & Wesson 'Military and Police' revolver, developed in 1899. Described as the most successful handgun of all time,  this was one of the standard side-arms of the British and Commonwealth forces during WW2 along with the Enfield no2 and Webley Mk4, and known as the 'Victory' revolver during wartime production. This example is pre-Victory production model, without the V prefix to the serial number, but is marked 'United States Property' as it was supplied under the 'lend-lease' scheme to the British during WW2, and is broadarrow and inspection stamped. In good authentic condition, this revolver features wooden hand grips in good sound condition and most of it's original blued finish, with matching serial numbers to frame and chamber. Also US 'flaming bomb' ordnance mark on the bottom of the frame next to the serial number and the WB acceptance stamp. Good precise single and double-action, this revolver comes with a couple of inert .38" rounds. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
