Deactivated Smith & Wesson .455" mk1 rare triple lock revolver, early spec **SOLD**

This is a very rare 0.455" calibre Smith & Wesson mk1 hand-ejector revolver  with the triple lock system for the chambers. These pistols were manufactured between 1908 and 1915, and a contract for 5000 guns in .455" calibre was fulfilled in 1915 to supply British and Canadian forces during WW1 while our own manufacturers were struggling to meet demand.  A further contract for nearly 70,000 guns was met with the simpler double lock mk2. In beautiful condition, this revolver has near perfect blacking and perfect walnut hand grips. War Department inspection stamped and broad-arrow marked on the side frame, along with double crowfoot 'sold out of service' stamps, reflecting it's rarity. All 3 matching serial numbers, this pistol cocks and dry-fires with a very precise single and double-action. The inert rounds shown are not included. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate of Deactivation.

Our Price: £1250.00
