This is an Australian SLR L1A1 self-loading rifle, made at the Small Arms Factory- Lithgow where production ran from 1959 till 1986. Chambering the 7.62 x 51mm Nato round from a 20-round magazine, the SLR was a popular weapon in its time, preferred by the infantryman to the US M-16 due to it's superior stopping power. This particular example is a 1995 early spec deactivation, and as such will cock and dry fire and is fully strippable. The wooden furniture is in very good condition, with just the expected knocks of a front-line weapon, good blacked finish to the steel. Although a Lithgow weapon, identifiable by the serial number prefix of AD, it does have some Enfield stamped components, as is not uncommon. Comes with correct webbing sling and a couple of inert rounds to load into the magazine. Deactivated in the UK to UK specification with Proof-House certificate.
Our Price: £1450.00
All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
