Deactivated Russian Tokarev SVT-40 semi-automatic assault rifle 1941 dated **SOLD**

This is the semi-automatic self loading rifle that equipped Russian troops during WW2. First developed in 1938 by Fedsor Tokarev and designated the SVT-38, it was used during the invasion of Finland, but was not the perfect weapon. It's shortcomings were addressed, and after refinements were made to it in 1940 it was redesignated the SVT-40, and in 1942 a fully automatic version was introduced and designated the AVT-40.  Dated 1941 on the receiver and stamped with the Tula Armoury mark, this rifle comes complete with cleaning rod, sling and genuine (not repro) detachable magazine. This example is in very good condition, all matching serial numbers except magazine, with excellent blued steel and only minor marks to the laquer. Some stripping is possible around the breech cover and gas blow-back, and the action can be completely removed from the stock if desired. A clip of inert 7.62mm calibre cartridges is also included to 'complete' this vintage weapon. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
